Bahrain media delegation participated alongside leading media personalities from India and members of Arab League member states in the First India-League of Arab States Media Symposium, held in New Delhi, on 21 August 2014, under the theme "Utilization of media for promoting Arab - Indian relations".
Media personalities from 14 Arab countries and India participated in the symposium which was inaugurated by Indian External Affairs Minister, Secretary-General of Media and Communication, Sushma Swaraj, and Arab League Assistant Sec-Gen for Media and Communication, Ambassador Dr. Haifa Abu Ghazaleh.
The Bahraini delegation, represented by Information Affairs Authority - Mass Media Director, Yusuf Mohamed Ismail, presented a work paper entitled "Employment of media in Arab countries to promote Arab-Indian relations", he also ran the second session that tackled the scope of media cooperation between Arab countries and India, and ways to achieve the desired media cooperation between the same parties.
The symposium comes to activating the memorandum of cooperation and the executive program signed in December 2013 between the Arab League and the Indian side. Where discussions focused on building media friendship relations to achieve free exchange of information, support media cooperation and launch joint media projects in the interest of the Arab and Indian sides.
