London - Arabstoday
Shoe designer Nicholas Kirkwood has launched his first menswear collection. Kirkwood unveiled six designs ranging from sporty styles to formal slippers. "I've been thinking to launch the men's line for a while now, it was just a matter of finding the right factory - and now that London has a men's week it's the perfect platform to debut them," Kirkwood told Vogue. Prices will range from £322 to £590 and the collection will feature a colour palette of black, navy, ice blue and metallic silver - in leather, suede and calf hair finishes. "I've tried to keep some of the DNA from the woman's collection in the use of fabrications and curtain lines and re-work them onto decisively more masculine structures," he explained. "I wanted to be able to show a range that covered most of the types of leather soled shoes that guys would want to wear, from daywear going into something more dressy. Although there are only six styles, I have fabricated them in multiple ways."
