Special coverage for IRONAM 70.3, horse racing events

The Director of the Media and Information Office of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Tawfiq Al Salehi, held a meeting with the Acting Assistant Undersecretary of Bahrain Radio and Television Abdullah Khaled Al Nassar Al Dossari in the presence of a number of officials from the Operations Department and the Sports Channel in order to discuss, coordinate and prepare the media coverage of the upcoming sporting events.

Al Salehi conveyed the greetings and appreciation of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of Bahrain Olympic Committee, to the attendees, praising the great efforts by the Ministry of Information Affairs in covering various sporting events.
Al Dossari confirmed the directives of the Minister of Information Affairs to provide special coverage to the events of the IRONMAN 70.3 Middle East Championship Bahrain and the horse races.
The meeting shed light on a series of events that will be organised in the near future, including the Endurance, Showjumping and Horse Beauty Championships.
However, the main focus was the IRONMAN 70.3 Middle East Championship which will take place on November 25 with a large participation from professional and amateur athletes.
Several topics were also discussed, including the cooperation of the Ministry of the Information Affairs in broadcasting the events of the IRONMAN 70.3 Middle East Championship Bahrain with the main goal to present it in a distinctive way, in addition to covering the three competitions of the event; the swimming race, the cycling contest and the running competition live.
The meeting also discussed the best ways to collaborate with the staff of the ministry to make full use of the equipment available in covering the of the events live on TV.
It was also agreed to broadcast the proceedings of the opening ceremony of the Horse Endurance Championship on November 23.
Al Salehi praised the efforts of the ministry staff in covering different sporting events held in Bahrain, saying that such efforts have contributed to conveying the bright image of Bahrain.
He pointed out the importance of uniting efforts and working in harmony with the ministry in order to achieve the distinguished media coverage of the IRONMAN 70.3 Middle East Championship Bahrain in line with its significance as one of the key events that contribute towards positioning Bahrain high among the countries that host triathlon events.
Al Dossari expressed the ministry's readiness to participate actively in the success of this event in accordance with the royal directives and the aspirations of HH Shaikh Nasser to make this event an enormous success, pointing out that the success of the IRONMAN 70.3 Middle East Championship Bahrain is a success for the Kingdom and everyone should work with maximum efforts to achieve this goal.
