The Indian School today completed the sides in the semi-finals of the intermediate boys stage football championship, at the Fourth Mini Olympics.
With three teams tied up on five points in all three groups, the best runners-up team was decided through round robin matches as the Indian School scored victories over Ibn Al Haitham Islamic School (3-1) and Hawar School (2-0) to punch the fourth and last ticket into the competition’s semi-finals.
Late on, the organisers conducted the draw for the semi-finals, scheduled for Sunday, when Group ‘A’ winners Creativity take on the Indian School, while Group ‘C’ Al Naseem face Group ‘A’ winners Kanoo International School.
Meanwhile, the primary boys stage football championship semi-finals will take place on Sunday, when Group ‘A’ winners Hawar face Group ‘B’ champions Budaiya.
Al Hekma, who topped Group ‘C’, take on Group ‘D’ winners Al Naseem. It will be followed by the final and the awarding ceremony later in the day.
Action in the Mini Olympics continued today with the opening stages of the mini handball and the taekwondo events, in addition to cricket matches, all taking place at Isa Sports City facilities in Riffa.

Competitions in aquathlon, swimming, jiu jitsu, hockey, athletic and karting are yet to come over the coming week.
The last day of competition will feature hockey and athletics events on March 29, while the curtain will come down on the Mini Olympics on March 30 when the closing ceremony takes place.
