Manama - Arab Today

Khaled Alsaei and Rashid Almuammari were both victorious in the latest edition of the Bahrain Karting Sprints Championship (BKSC) at Bahrain International Karting Circuit (BIKC) in Sakhir.
Alsaei triumphed in the fifth round of the 2016/2017 Bahrain Rotax Mojo Max Challenge (BRMMC) while Almuammari continued his winning ways in the 2016/2017 Bahrain SWS Sprints Championship (SSWS).
Both meetings were the penultimate meetings in each highly competitive national championship, which together makes up the BKSC.
In the BRMMC, which is a series for Rotax kart owners, Alsaei triumphed with a spirited finish to the day’s events.
He completed the 15-lap event in a total race time of 14 minutes 34.960 seconds. Youngster Hussain Hassan was the runner-up 3.676 seconds behind, while Muayyad Alabandi claimed the final podium step 10.959s adrift.
Talal Beshara, Alexander Bekkers, and Adam Salem were fourth through sixth, respectively. Anas Lecaillon, Luca Santiago and Sulaiman Alkanderi rounded out the final classification.
Despite the result, Hassan continued to lead the title race with 154 points in the BRMMC’s Senior Max category. Alsaei is in second, trailing by 15 markers, while Mohamed Mattar is third on 121 points.
Leading the Junior Max class was Santiago with 103 points, followed by Bekkers on 94 points and Lecaillon with 93.
In the SSWS, which is an arrive-and-drive championship that sees karters compete in identical Sodikarts, Almuammari took the win in 19:34.391. Abubaker Ali was the second to finish the sprint and he was a mere 0.163s behind.
Najashi Rashdan completed the podium placers 8.026s behind the winner.
A total of 21 drivers took part in the Final, which was held over 15 laps. Mohammed Jalal finished in fourth place with Ahmed Ebrahim fifth and Yousif Khamiri rounding out the top six.
Following the seventh round of action in the SSWS, Almuammari remains in first place on the SSWS championship standings with 198 points. Buhindi is in second on 171 points, while in third position was Ahmed Ebrahim on 147 markers.
The karters now head to the final round of the BKSC on April 7 at BIKC. All are welcome attend. Entrance to the karting facility is free of charge.
