Sources close to the Lebanese actress Haifa Wahby said that the actress’ comment on the arrest of Syrian singer Assala was just a joke, saying that she did not aim to insult her. They added that the Arab people from different countries commented on the incident, while her comment was the strongest one.
The sources underlined that Haifa has not differences or problems with Assala, saying that the comment did not contain any violations against the Syrian singer. They warned that there are attempts aiming to smear the image of Lebanese singer before her fans in all over the Arab world after her notable success on both dramatic and singing sides.
Haifa wrote on her Facebook account, “If I knew that smuggling of Cocaine is not punishable, I would have changed the end of ‘Al Herbaya’ TV drama show and replaced it with a comedy end.”
