Singer Asala Nasri
Beirut - Michal Haddad

The Syrian famous singer Asala Nasri stressed that she feels more nostalgic for her country than ever before, especially at a stage when she sees her homeland is burning and people either dying or heading towards displacement.

"Syria exists in my mind without interruption and my political stand was a reflection of my love for the land, the people and the beautiful memories of this country," Asala added in an interview with Arabs Today.

"No one can take me out of my homeland, I am there in every second, and one day, I will return again," she stated.

Regarding her apology for the singer George Wassouf, who accused her of betrayal, Nasri stressed that she did not apologize for him, adding that she respectable and does not respond to abuse.

She blamed the artists who used her name to give lessons in patriotism, pointed out that her homeland is her conscience.
