Sao Paulo have signed Argentina international striker Lucas Pratto on a four-year deal, the Brazilian club announced on Friday.
The 28-year-old will be officially presented to the club's fans on Sunday after Sao Paulo agreed to pay Pratto's former team Atletico Mineiro an undisclosed transfer fee.
"We now have one of the best forwards on the continent, an Argentina international and possibly an important player in the next World Cup," Sao Paulo president Carlos Silva said.
"We are very happy and satisfied. It's an important investment but it was planned and it was made possible by our financial recovery program."
Pratto scored 41 goals in 104 appearances for Atletico Mineiro following his 2015 move from Velez Sarsfield. He has capped four times for Argentina's national team, scoring two goals.
He said: "I'm very happy to have come to a club as big as Sao Paulo. I hope to score lots of goals and bring success to the team."
