Yemeni Minister of Local Administration Abdel Raqib Fatah accused the Houthi militias of committing war crimes in the Yemeni city of Taiz, as they launched missile and artillery attacks against the civilians of the city. He added that they also besieged a number of villages to prevent the delivery of humanitarian aids to their residents.

The Yemeni official added, in a statement to “Arabs Today”, that the Houthi militants prevented UN official Stephen Obraine from entering the city, saying that such action came not to reveal the crimes they committed against the city’s residents. He called the international community for taking action to save the residents of over 105 villages turned to leave their houses to find safer places.

He praised the role performed by King Salman Center for Relief and Emirati Red Crescent to deliver the humanitarian aids to the residents of the liberated areas, including Mokha, saying that they also delivered aids to the displaced people. He stressed that they have clear plans to improve the conditions of Mokha’s residents and to qualify the hospitals for receive the patients.

He added that the Yemeni province suffers from increasing problem because of the lack of water and electricity since the eruption of the battles between the governmental troops on one hand and Houthi militias and other forces loyal to former President Ali Abdullah Saleh.

He stressed that the residents suffer from the increasing shortage of basic demands, as the insurgents turned to prevent the entry of drugs and food to the province’s cities.
