H.H. Dr. Shaikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, has inaugurated the Islamic Manuscripts House at Al Qasimia University.

HH Dr. Shaikh Sultan unveiled the curtain to mark the official opening of the Islamic Manuscripts House and inspected the facilities of the House built in an Islamic style and containing various manuscripts that date back hundreds of years.
Shaikh Sultan also reviewed the manuscripts displayed in the lobby of the House, which includes the oldest manuscripts dating back to the fifth century A.H.
The manuscripts and documents presented to Al Qasimia University are the most precious and rare historical manuscripts collected by His Highness the Ruler of Sharjah during his visits to various countries of the world, WAM, the UAE news agency, reported.
The House was designed according to the best international specifications in areas of document preservation and restoration, archiving, and classification.
The two-storey House of Manuscripts, built on an area of 2,800 square metres, contains several services and technical facilities.
