H.H. Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Interior Minister, opened on Sunday Naval Defence Exhibition and Conference, NAVDEX 2017, being held at the opposite quay platform to Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre.

The event is part of International Defence Exhibition Conference, IDEX 2017.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by Staff Major General Ibrahim Salim Mohammad Al-Musharkh; Commander of the Naval Forces, Staff Major General Sheikh Saeed bin Hamdan Al Nahyan, Deputy Commander of the Naval Forces; a number of officers from the Ministry of Interior; Navy officers, senior officials, and dignitaries.

Sheikh Saif bin Zayed toured the pavilions of the national and international companies featuring their products at NAVDEX, where he exchanged views with exhibitors about their advanced products, technologies and innovative equipment.

"Our national institutions have acquired more practical experience to organise such international specialised exhibitions as per the best international standards, and inspired by the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, and follow-up by His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme commander of the UAE Armed Forces," he said.

Sheikh Saif added that IDEX, NAVDEX and other accompanying events constitute a paramount importance within the exhibition map in the State. "These events represent a distinctive platform for many national and international companies to offer advanced and innovative products," he added.
