Wrapping up a three-day bus tour through Republican controlled states, US President Barack Obama late Wednesday touted his proposed jobs legislation will give a much-needed jolt to the nation's economy.
Obama spoke to voters in Virginia call out against Republicans who vote against his USD 447 billion American Jobs Act will owe the nation an explanation. Senior Republican leaders have criticized, including Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell who called it Obama's effort tot garner support around the bill "completely preposterous".
Obama countered "the question is why Congress isn't will to move," and said the proposal would put back hundreds of thousands of laid off firefighters, police officers and teachers.
Congress will vote on the bill later this week.
