Director General of the International Federation Ambika Sharma,
New Delhi - FANA NEWS

Director General of the International Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), Ambika Sharma, Monday, said that there is a possible cooperation between Jordan and India in the field of reconstruction neighboring countries.

She also pointed out her country’s potentials and expertise in the infrastructure and construction domains, calling to come up with a roadmap to promote ties between the private sectors in both countries.

The official made her remarks during the Jordanian-Indian economic forum in New Delhi.

Sharma said that opportunities lie ahead for the Jordanian-Indian ties to cement trade and economic engagement, describing the Kingdom as a unique country in the region.

President of the Jordan Investment Commission, Thabet Al Wir, took part in the forum and said “We have a real opportunity now, more than ever to expand trade and investment between the two countries”.

Jordan’s strategic position offers investment companies the possibility of establishing trade and economic ties with the rest of the world, especially after reaching EU agreements on easing the rules of the origin, said Al Wir.

The volume of trade exchange between the two countries amounted to about JD1.3 billion last year, compared to JD640 million for the first half of this year.
