Ismailia International Festival for Short Films has been launched on Wednesday in Ismailia’s Cultural Palace in the presence of Egypt’s Minister of Culture Helmy Al Namnam and Ismailia’s Governor Yassin Taher in addition to a number of other officials and artists. The festival honored Egyptian director Hashem Al Nahas.
During his speech before the festival, the Egyptian minister underlined the efforts exerted by the government to restore the festival which has been suspended for years, saying that the government’s insistence to hold such festivals reflects its realization of the importance of arts and artists.
He added that the Egyptian people decided to challenge the terrorists, as they love the life, saying, “We will not allow the death traders to deprive us from our rights to live in peace and love.”
In the same context, Ismailia’s Governor Yassin Taher said that the festival is considered of the governorate’s priorities, saying that it provides strong message to the whole world that Egypt is the country of peace, love, development and security. He stressed the need for focusing on achieve cultural development.
