Through recent investments in both products and projects, Ducab is working to power the UAE’s renewable energy agenda with a particular emphasis on solar, nuclear and wind energy during this year’s Water, Energy, Technology and Environment Exhibition, WETEX 2017.

Ducab is the Middle East’s leading manufacturer of high quality cables and cabling products owned equally by Abu Dhabi’s Senaat General Holding Corporation, Senaat, and by Investment Corporation Dubai, ICD.

Jamal Salem Al Dhaheri, Chairman of Ducab, said, "The UAE continues to take significant steps to diversify its economy, and today that transformation is clearly seen within the nation’s power and energy sector when it comes to the adoption of clean energy sources. Ducab is committed to accelerating this transformation by investing in innovation and creating tailored products that make it easier, safer, and more cost effective to deliver sustainable energy not only in the UAE, but around the world."

The UAE government has taken an active approach in transforming its national energy agenda with an emphasis on sustainable energy. The Dubai Clean Energy Strategy 2050, for example, aims to make Dubai a global centre of clean energy and the green economy, including an AED100 billion Green Fund. The UAE is set to spend AED600 billion over the next 33 years to integrate renewable, nuclear and clean fossil energy as part of its 2050 energy plan .

In an industry with rapidly evolving requirements, Ducab is diversifying its product range to meet energy needs of the future. In addition to its new SolarBICC range, Ducab will also be showcasing at WETEX its Ducab NuBICC nuclear-grade cables which are already being used in nuclear power plants in the UAE and abroad.

Wind energy also features prominently at this year’s WETEX following the recent announcement of the first large-scale wind farm set to be developed in the GCC. Today, Ducab offers specialised expertise plus a broad range of certified and type-approved products for wind energy, having already supplied specialist products wind farm projects in the UK.
