Prime Minister Imad Khamis said on Thursday that national media is responsible for embodying challenges in society, shedding light on its problems in an objective way and conveying reality.
Khamis, chairing a meeting with the executive office of journalists’ union, added that Syrian media’s support to the government in the war against terrorism has foiled attempts of erasing the Syrian cultural heritage and civilization.
He pointed out to the necessity of outlining the goals of media sector in an organized way to confront the war on media and actively participate in strengthening the national affiliation sense.
On his part, Chairman of the union Musa Abed al-Nour said that the Syrian national media has been able to go along with the Syrian Army’s victories and its achievements as well as conveying the Syrian State’s message to the whole world.
Participants in the meeting called for drawing media policies, training the media staff to keep up with the latest technical and media professional work, supporting the young journalists and providing advanced logistic equipment that the media sector needs
