Foreign direct investment (FDI) registration in Bangladesh over the last seven months from July to January stood at 425 million U.S. dollars, the central bank data showed Monday. According to statistics of the Bangladesh Bank (BB), FDI grew nearly 5 percent in Bangladesh in the first seven months of the current 2011-12 fiscal year (July 2011-June 2012) compared with the same period last fiscal year. The BB data showed net FDI in Bangladesh stood at 375 million U. S. dollars in the first half of the current 2011-12 fiscal year. The figure was 768 million U.S. dollars in the last 2010-11 fiscal year from July to June, it showed.
