More Indian pupils are now getting better education, as over 16,230 pupils attend schools rated better in inspections this year by Dubai’s education authority. An overview of the inspection results of Indian and Pakistani schools was announced today by the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA). Out of the 21 Indian curriculum schools inspected during this cycle, two schools had an outstanding rating, seven were rated good, ten as acceptable and two as unsatisfactory. All 3 Pakistani curriculum schools in the city were found to be unsatisfactory. As Gulf News reported earlier, the two Indian schools rated outstanding for the first time are the Indian High School, Dubai, and the Modern High School. Indian schools cater to 28 per cent Dubai's private students Indian curriculum schools serve about 60,565 pupils, accounting for 28 per cent of the student population in private schools in Dubai. Three schools offer Pakistani curriculum in the city, serving 3,211 pupils. The overall performance of all three is evaluated by inspectors as unsatisfactory. When a school is evaluated as unsatisfactory it is removed from the regular inspection cycle for that year and placed in the Follow-Through Inspection cycle. This cycle ensures a regular review of each school’s progress Last year, of the 21 Indian schools inspected, 11 were rated good, 7 as acceptable and 3 as unsatisfactory. All of the 3 Pakistani schools were rated unsatisfactory last year.
