Washington - KUNA

The US State Department created a social media campaign titled "Think Again Turn Away" in order keep the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) from obtaining more members.
"The goal obviously of this is to target at potential recruits, potential sympathizers and to show and expose the brutality of terrorist organizations," State Department Spokesperson Marie Harf said in a briefing Friday.
She highlighted that the program is to point out the "fallacies" and "inconsistencies" of terrorist groups and "point out how this is contrary to Islam and really make very clear what this group is so people don't join it." The campaign has been carried out primarily in Arabic but is now being spread in English and Urdu.
"I know there isn't a lot of attention paid to it lately, but it's something that we've put a lot of resources into," she added.
