Ukraine journalist
Voronezh - Itar-Tass

Journalist of Ukrainian television broadcaster 1+1 Yevgeny Agarkov who covered the trial against Nadezhda Savchenko without a work permit in Russia is being kept at a temporary detention centre for foreign citizens and will be deported from Russia next week, the Federal Migration Service (FMS) regional department told ITAR-TASS on Monday.
Central district court in the city of Voronezh, south of the European part of Russia, has ruled to expel the journalist on July 18. Agarkov explained to the Russian migration watchdog that he had not been informed in Ukraine that he should have received a work permit for journalist activity in Russia.
The journalist does not intend to appeal the court verdict, chief of the Voronezh regional temporary centre for foreign citizens Aleksey Moshnoy told ITAR-TASS. “He agreed with the verdict and is going to pay a fine today,” the FMS regional department said. So, in his words, the court verdict will take effect in ten days after it is passed, after that court bailiffs will process necessary documents, will buy a ticket to a foreigner and will send him to the homeland.
Moshnoy also noted that Agarkov was content with migration watchdog’s actions and took the situation with understanding.
In Voronezh Agarkov was making TV footages in the affair against Nadezhda Savchenko accused of being an accomplice in the murder of Russian central public television and radio broadcaster VGTRK Igor Kornelyuk and Anton Voloshin. She is being kept at a Voronezh detention centre.
Savchenko’s lawyers have appealed the measure of restraint put on her at Novousmansky district court on July 18, a court representative told ITAR-TASS. The appeal should be passed to Voronezh regional court on Monday.
