Amal Al Qubaisi
Abu dhabi - WAM

Dr. Amal Abdullah Al Qubaisi, Speaker of Federal National Council, FNC, has said that the Global Summit of Women Speakers of Parliament, which opened in Abu Dhabi yesterday, is an effort to prepare for the future, draw on ideas and solutions, and build cohesion between parliamentarians and communities across the world.

In a statement given to WAM today on the sidelines of the event, Dr. Amal Al Qubaisi said that the first-of-its-kind summit demonstrates the UAE's international and leading status in many areas, including issues on women's empowerment.

Dr. Al Qubaisi explained that the main objective of the summit is to unite the will of leaders and legislators by strengthening the unified message of the Inter-Parliamentary Union, and put in place mechanisms for change that will achieve sustainable prosperity and security in today's world.

"The main objective of the Global Summit of Women Speakers of Parliament is to look into the future of a world which is witnessing rapid changes, to benefit the generations of tomorrow, and to reflect on better ways to lay the foundations of a sustainable future that responds to those challenges," she said.
