Shaikha Mai bint Mohammed Al Khalifa
Manama - Arab Today

President of Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities (BACA) Shaikha Mai bint Mohammed Al Khalifa received today outgoing French Ambassador to Bahrain Bernard Regnauld-Fabre, in the presence of Advisor for Cultural Cooperation at the French embassy Dominique Chastres.
She stressed the need for continuous cooperation between both countries especially in light of the effective French presence in the annual cultural activities in Bahrain. She thanked the French ambassador for his efforts to narrow the gap between the Bahraini and French cultures and for his constant cooperation with BACA which yielded a variety of cultural activities including art galleries, concerts and training workshops. She also briefed him on the Bahraini cultural momentum, especially BACA's preparations for the new year 2018 and choosing Muharraq as the capital of Islamic culture.

The French ambassador lauded distinguished relations between Bahrain and France, underlining the key role of BACA in promoting cultural cooperation. He also hailed the kingdom's steps to boost its status as a regional and international civilisational hub, wishing BACA every success in its future cultural projects.

The role of the French excavation mission, which marks this year its 40th anniversary, in highlighting Bahrain's rich heritage was also brought under the spotlight.
