Cairo - Arabs Today

The Ministry of Interior has outlined inclusive security and traffic plans to secure the football match that will be held later in the day between Egypt and Uganda at Borg El Arab Stadium.

Today's match is the return leg that comes as a part of Group E's qualifiers for the 2018 World Cup to take place in Russia.

High-definition security cameras (CCTV) have been installed at the stadium, outside and at main axes leading to it, with a view to monitoring any violations and take legal action in this regard, a security source told MENA.

Interior Minister Magdi Abdel Ghaffar issued directives to his aides to outline a security plan meant to offer all facilitation to the fans, the source added.

The minister warned that in case any fan wouldn't abide by the match laws, he will face swift legal actions.

The stadium will open its doors as of 12 pm for the 60,000 ticket holders.

On Sunday, the mission of Uganda's football team, which comprises 33 players, arrived at Cairo International airport.

The Ugandan football team defeated the Egyptian Pharaohs 1/0 on Thursday, climbing top of 2018 World Cup qualifying Group E.

It was the first win for Uganda over Egypt since 1965.
