The Bahraini Al Muharraq Club achieved a stunning victory to raise its points to eight points topping its group in the 3rd Arab Women Sports Tournament (AWST 2016) hosted by Sharjah until February 12th. The Emirati Al Wasl Club came second with a score of seven points, followed by Sharjah Ladies Club, which scored six points, sharing the same place with Lebanon's Al Qalamoon Club. The Jordanian Olympic Club came in the fifth place with three points, while the Palestinian Ebdaa Club came in the sixth place with no points scored.

The shooting competitions also saw Bahrain collect a gold medal in the 10m air rifle competition with Safa Khalifa, while Kuwaiti Mariam Al Marzouqi clinched the silver medal, and Emirati Sumaya Al Marzouqi bagged the bronze. In the 10m pistol shooting competition, Bahraini Mouza Ali won the gold medal and her compatriot Ayesha Al Buraiki won the silver medal, while Emirati Wafa Al Ali won the bronze.

Bahrain bagged another gold medal in group 10m air pistol competitions while the Emirati team clinched the silver and the Kuwaiti team won the bronze. In 25m air pistol competitions, Tunisian Olpha Sharni clinched the gold medal, while the silver medal went to Bahraini Mouza Ali, and her compatriot Mariam Al Ghurair won the bronze. In 10m air rifle, the Kuwaiti team bagged the gold medal, while the Bahraini team clinched the silver medal, and the Emirati team won the bronze.

In the archery finals, Bahrain came first with a score of seven medals; three gold, three silver and one bronze, while Kuwait came in the second place with three medals, one gold, one silver and one bronze. Tunisia finished third with a gold medal, and the UAE came in the fourth place with a score of four medals, one silver and three bronze.
In basketball, Sharjah Ladies Club won 86-61 against the Emirati Bani Yas Club, while Bahrain's Al Najma Club defeated the Jordanian Olympic 72-67. In the double table tennis game, Qatar won the competition after Aya Majdi and Maha Abdul Redha defeated the Lebanese players; Marianna Sahagian and Tevin Moumjoghlian 3-0 in the final match. In the fencing competitions, Emirati player Hamda Al Qubaisi won the title after defeating her compatriot Shahd Ahmed Khuram.

The third Arab Women Sports Tournament is being held under the patronage of Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, Wife of the Ruler of Sharjah and Chairperson of the Supreme Council for Family Affairs.
