His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa has received a cable of congratulations from the Interior Minister, Lieutenant-General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, on Bahrain’s historic achievements at the 18th Asian Games, which concluded in Jakarta today.

The minister extended deepest congratulations to HM King Hamad on the kingdom’s outstanding success in bagging 28 medals during the 18th Asian Games.

The landmark sports achievments and the distinguished level showcased by Bahraini athletes at such a major international gathering reflects the kingdom’s prestigious international status, and the progress it is witnessing in various fields during HM the King’s prosperous era, the minister said.

They also reflect HM King Hamad’s constant care and support for all sports activities, which enabled the kingdom to clinch advanced positions at various international sports competitions, he added.

He wished Bahrain ever-lasting security and stability to attain more progress and prosperity, under HM the King leadership.
