Oman social security official elected head of global pension panel

Hamdah bint Said Al Shamiyah, Acting Director General of PASI has been elected as Head of Pension Technical Committee at the International Social Security Association (ISSA).

She was elected to the post at a meeting in which the Public Authority for Social Insurance (PASI), represented by Hamdah bint Said Al Shamiyah, Acting Director General of PASI, took part. It was the 115th meeting of the executive office for the ISSA, which was held recently in Geneva. 

The meeting discussed a number of topics including the election of the deputy chairman Association, heads of the technical committees and members of the executive office and the Association.

It also discussed the appointment of the nomination committee members and reviewed the major achievements made during the past period.

The meeting also discussed the contributions of the members and the financial report of the association for the period from 2014 to 2016, as well as the financial report for 2016.

The meeting discussed the regional forum for social security and the cooperation relation between the Association and ILO and other organisations as well.
