The Vice-President of the Republic, Hassabo Mohamed Abdul-Rahman , was informed by the High Committee for Collection of Weapons and Unlicensed Cars in White Nile State on the Committee's plan and mechanism set up to implemented it.

Hassabo, at onset of his visit to the State , held meeting at the State General Secretariat in Rabak, Sunday, with the White Nile State's Security Committee.

The audience was attended by Governor of the State, Dr Abdul-Hameed Musa Kasha and Chairman of the State's legislative Council, Ismail Naway.

Director of State Police, Maj. Gen.(police) Qurashi Saleh Ahmed said in a statement to SUNA after the meeting that the Vice-President , who is also Chairman of the High Committee for Collection of Weapons and Unlicensed Vehicles, listened to the Security Committee's plan and commended efforts being made in this connection.

He added the meeting reaffirmed that the technical subcommittee to hold an other meeting with the State Committee on Collection of Weapons and Unlicensed Cars to put further necessary measures.

Maj. Gen. Qurashi further added the State Government presented a briefing about role of native administration and its interaction with weapons collection campaign, predicting that the White Nile State would be free of weapons soon.
