Qatar's Minister of Culture and Sports Salah bin Ghanem Al Ali has stressed the need to expand prospects
Manama - Arab Today

Qatar's Minister of Culture and Sports Salah bin Ghanem Al Ali has stressed the need to expand prospects of innovation for youth in the GCC as an integral condition for launching initiatives and stimulating talents to address challenges facing Arab youths.
Speaking as he led Qatar's delegation to the 31st meeting of GCC ministers of youth and sports, which concluded Wednesday in Manama, Al Ali said the Ministry of Culture and Sports is working to achieve that demand in line with the ministry's vision to create an aware society with authentic mind and fit body, Qatar News Agency (QNA) reported.
The ministerial meeting endorsed the strategic plan for the ministers of youth and sports for the strategic term of 2018-2022, which will be implemented starting next year. The plan was agreed upon during the GCC leaders' summit in Bahrain's Sakhir and stipulates the increase of youth programs, empowering youths to carry out leading roles that contribute to the progress of GCC states, in addition to several aspects in the youth field.
The meeting was held under the chairmanship of Bahraini Minister of Youth and Sports Affairs Hisham Mohammed Al Jowder who reaffirmed the aspiration of GCC states to boost the joint march of youth sports work and develop the role of youth in activating programmes and activities that help in deepening integration.
In a related development, HM King of Bahrain Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa honored at Sakhir Palace a number of youth leaders and innovators in the presence of GCC youth and sports ministers and participant delegations.
Based on a nomination from the Ministry of Culture and Sports, Qatar's media personality Saad bin Mohammed Al Rumaihi was honored along with Mohammed Faraj Al Khanji for their leading efforts in youth work. Mubarak Mohammed Ahmed Al Jaber and Mohammed Salah Al Kuwari, both members of Qatar Scientific Club, were honored for their achievements.
Speaking to Qatar News Agency (QNA), Al Rumaihi thanked the ministry for nominating him and the other honorees, which, he added, shows the keenness of GCC leaders on supporting the youth and sports sector as well as other sectors in the different institutions in order to achieve excellence and innovation, stressing that Qatar spares no effort to support youths.
For his part, Al Khanji said the honoring motivates other personnel in the youth sector to continue to do their best, expressing gratitude to the Ministry of Culture and Sports for nominating him to culminate his march in youth work, which dates back to the sixties of the previous century, according to QNA.
