Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Secretary-General Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani received UN envoy to Yemen Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmed.
The meeting focused on developments in Yemen and the efforts of the UN Envoy to resume political consultation between Yemeni parties to restore security and peace on the basis of the Gulf initiative, the National Dialogue outcome and the UN Security Council resolution 2216. Dr. Al-Zayani commended the efforts of the UN Envoy to arrange consultations between concerned parties, building on the talks which were held in Switzerland.
