Manama - Arab Today

Electricity and Water Affairs Minister Dr. Abdulhussain Ali Mirza has received a delegation headed by Member of Parliament (MP) Dr. Majeed Mohsen Al Asfoor and several Sitra area citizens.
The minister said "we are always seeking and striving to improve the quality of services we provide to residents in the kingdom in compliance with the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa the Prime Minister." "Our direct interaction with the citizens is the main indicator to measure the quality of these services and we are constantly seeking to create opportunity for improvement as we consider the citizen as the essential partner in the process of quality improvement." he added.

The minister briefed the delegation about the Sustainable Energy Unit’s plans, programmes and the steps taken to encourage initiatives to harness solar energy in residential and public buildings.

The meeting also discussed some demands and needs for electricity and water in the interest of area inhabitants.

The delegation offered some suggestions that will improve the quality of these services, including the installation of street lighting poles operating on solar energy to reduce electric power consumption.

The delegation thanked the minister for his continuous follow up of quality of services provided by the Electricity and Water Authority (EWA) all over Bahrain’s regions, citing the ministry’s efforts through the Sustainable Energy Unit to achieve national objectives of renewable energy and energy efficiency.

The delegation members also expressed their gratitude to the minister as well as EWA and the Sustainable Energy Unit’s officials for their efforts and continuous follow up of citizens’ demands.
