The Qatari Deputy Prime Minister and State Minister at the Council of Ministers, Ahmed bin Abdalla Al-Mahmoud, has affirmed his country's keenness to help realizing peace, development and stability in Darfur.
He said in his address at the fourth meeting of the coordinative council for recovery, rehabilitation and development in Darfur Monday at Corinthia Hotel that his country has acted, in compliance with the directive of the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, with the international partners for implementing development projects in Darfur, a matter that facilitated the voluntary return, referring to Qatar's establishment of five model housing complexes in Darfur.
Al-Mahmoud has referred to the start of arrangements to establish more 10 services in Darfur at the cost of 70 million dollars.
He called on the international partners and donors to abide by their commitments for implementing the development strategy in Darfur.
He indicated that the coming period will witness foundation of Darfur Rehabilitation Fund which will provide funding for projects.
Meanwhile, the meeting has heard a number of reports on the development process in Darfur.
