Pakistan reiterated that it “stands firmly with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
Islamabad - Arab Today

The international community has reacted strongly to Tuesday’s launch of a ballistic missile targeting Saudi Arabia’s capital city, Riyadh, by Houthi militias in Yemen.
Several countries, including Italy, Pakistan, Bahrain and Djibouti, have released statements condemning the Houthi militias for the latest in a number of attempted attacks on Saudi territory, labeling it a “terrorist” and “criminal” act.
Both Pakistan and Italy stressed that the Iran-backed militia’s repeated aggression threatens security in the region and, Italy noted, “undermines the prospects for a negotiated and comprehensive solution to the crisis.”
“The increasing frequency and ferocity of missile attacks targeting innocent civilians by Houthi militias pose a threat to regional peace and security,” Pakistan’s Foreign Office spokesman Mohammed Faisal said in a statement. “Pakistan strongly believes that a political solution to the ongoing Yemen crisis is the only way to ensure regional peace and stability.”
Pakistan reiterated that it “stands firmly with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in confronting terrorism in all its forms” and stressed its “unequivocal support” for the country. “Pakistan will stand shoulder to shoulder with the government and people of Saudi Arabia,” the statement said.
Pakistan’s former ambassador to the Kingdom, Aziz Ahmad Khan, said it was “alarming” that the attack targeted a residential area and could have resulted in civilian casualties. He told Arab News, “The Yemen conflict needs urgent attention.”
