The UAE Cabinet on Sunday launched a platform for government policies dedicated to decision and policy makers involved in drawing up and implementing federal government's policies.

The state policy platform was launched at Sunday's Cabinet meeting chaired by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and the Ruler of Dubai.

The platform for government polices is the first site and electronic application dedicated to decision-makers and stakeholders in the field of government policies, for exchanging experiences and knowledge, as well as training and interaction on matters related to government issues.

The new e-site and application will serve as a platform that brings together about 339 Emirati leaders and senior government officials dedicated to formulating the state policies in various sectors.

Addressing the Cabinet, Sheikh Mohammed said: "By launching the government policy platform, we strive to empower our employees with all mechanisms and tools that help stimulate their efforts, develop their skills and qualify them. Our employees are the makers of our success, and are the strategic partners in moving the engine of development and progress forward.”

He stressed that developing the skills of government employees is a priority and key to the success of government efforts in all spheres, and is also the corner stone of government excellence.

The Cabinet meeting opened with a minute of silence observed by the ministers in honour of the 52 Emirati martyrs who died while participating in the Saudi-led Arab Coalition Operation Restoring Hope in Yemen.

The Cabinet issued a statement in which it expressed the sincere condolences of the UAE government and its people to the martyrs' families.

Lieutenant General Sheikh Saif Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, and Sheikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, were present.

The Cabinet also expressed its sincere condolences and sympathy to King Salman Bin Abdul Aziz of Saudi Arabia and all those who died in the crane collapse in Makkah's Grand Mosque, and prayed to Allah Almighty to grant their souls peace and give their families patience and solace. The Cabinet approved a draft programme on preventive measures to be taken to ensure public health and combat epidemic diseases. It also approved a number of recommendations by the Federal National Council with regard to the Ministry of Labour's policy on regulating and streamlining the job market.

It also approved the establishment of a strategic medical stock in the country so as to be well prepared and ready to respond swiftly in emergencies The Cabinet endorsed a number of treaties and agreements signed between the UAE and other countries.
