Prime Minister Sherif Ismail said on Thursday he will start from Saturday holding meetings with the new ministers.

In statements, he said that the cabinet’s weekly meeting will be held on Wednesday in order to give the new ministers a chance to study their ministries’ important files.

The new governors of New Valley, Alexandria, Qalyubia, Beheira and Dakahlia will be sworn in today, he added.

The new governors’ reshuffle is witnessing the appointment of the first women as a governor in Egypt's history.

The new governors are Mohamed el Zamalot of Al Eadi El Gedid (New Valley), Mohamed Ashmawi of Qalyubia, Mohamed Sultan of Alexandria, Ahmed Sharawi of Dakahlia and Nadia Saleh Abdo of Beheira.

Earlier, the House of Representatives approved a letter of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi that included the names of nine nominees for Cabinet portfolios.

The letter was submitted to the Parliament for a vote of confidence and comprised:

- Abdel Mon'em Abdel Wadood Mohamed el Banna, minister of agriculture and land reclamation.

- Omar el Khattab Marwan Abdullah Arafa, house of representatives affairs minister.

- Sahar Ahmed Abdel Mon'em Nasr, minister of investment and international cooperation.

- Ali el Sayed Ali el Mselhi, minister of supply and internal trade.

- Mohamed Hesham Zein el Abidine el Sherif, minister of local development.

- Hala Helmy el Sa'eed Yunus, minister of planning, monitoring and administrative reform.

- Khaled Atef Abdel Ghaffar, minister of higher education and scientific research.

- Tarek Galal Shawqi Ahmed Shawqi, minister of education and technical education.

- Hesham Arafat Mahdy Ahmed, minister of transport.

The deputy ministers are: 

- Mohamed Abdel Tawab Hassan el Sayed, deputy minister of agriculture for agricultural reclamation. 

- Mona Mehrez Ali Hassanein, deputy minister of agriculture for livestock and fisheries affairs.

- Safwat Abdel Hameed el Haddad Ahmed Hammad, deputy minister of agriculture for services and monitoring.

- Salah Abdel Rahman Ahmed Abdel Rahman, deputy minister of planning for administrative reform.
