Baghdad - Arab Today

Iraqi Foreign Minister Ibrahim al Jaafari met on Thursday with UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres.

Talks discussed the war against Daesh militant group and developments of the ongoing military operation to liberate Mosul.

Head of the United Nations Assistance Mission for Iraq (UNAMI) Jan Kubis attended the talks.

They also discussed the humanitarian situation on the ground and the displaced Iraqis file.

This is the first visit by Guterres to Iraq since assuming his post.
