Manama - Arab Today

His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa today received at Al-Sakhir Palace GCC Secretary General Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Alzayani.
Dr. Alzayani updated HM the King, incumbent chairman of the current GCC session, on the march of joint Gulf work, outlining preparations ahead of the upcoming GCC Consultative Summit.
The King commended the dedicated efforts of the GCC Chief and General-Secretariat staff to achieve the desired goals towards attaining more progress and development.
Dr. Alzayani expressed his delight at meeting HM the King, hailing royal directives to bolster the GCC joint march towards achieving lofty goals.
He said that he had updated HM the King on the ongoing implementation of the Sakhir Summit resolutions, which was held in Bahrain in December 2016, as well preparations ahead of the 17th Consultative Summit, which will be held next month (May 2017) in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
“HM the King hailed GCC leaders’ fraternal meetings and commended the joint meeting between foreign and interior ministers which will be held tomorrow (Thursday) in Riyadh”, Dr. Alzayani said.
He paid tribute to HM the King for honouring a number of youth work leaders and innovative youth competences for 2017 which, he said, reflects keenness on promoting Gulf youth.
