President Mahmoud Abbas congratulated on Wednesday German Chancellor Angela Merkel on the German Day of Unity, expressing his appreciation for Germany’s support of Palestinian people’s efforts to build their economy and institutions.
“We rely heavily on your important and active role and support of our sincere efforts to achieve a just peace in our region, which will be based on international resolutions, signed agreements and the two-state principle,” said Abbas in the letter to the German Chancellor.
