US Pentagon considers a proposal to send more troops
Baghdad - Najla Al Taee

Iraqi fighter jets raided strongholds of ISIS extremist group in Telaffar district, in the western side of Mousl, as the joint forces found a network of tunnels in the city's right bank with a large amounts of explosives. However, American military leader Steph Fotel revealed that U.S Pentagon considers a proposal to send more troops to Iraq to participate in the current military operations against ISIS.

The American General added, during a press conference, that the proposal comes in the framework of the U.S. responsibility to eliminate the extremist group, saying that the proposal is one of a number of choices still under consideration to achieve this objective as soon as possible.

In the same context, the international coalition announced that it conducted 32 air raids against ISIS strongholds in both Iraq and Syria during the recent 24 hours. It added that they raided areas near Baghdad and districts in Mousl, including Telaffar and Rawa. Spokesperson of the International Coalition, Colonel John Dorian said that the American troops in Iraq were shot during their participation in the current operations to liberate Mousl, while refused to give any details.

On his hand, leader of "We Are Coming Nineveh" Abdel Amir Yar Allah said, in a press statement, that the Iraqi air forces launched six air raids targeting ISIS strongholds in a number of areas in Mousl. He added that they managed to destroy a laboratory of wheel bombing. He added that they also killed 20 extremists in Telaffar and destroyed a store of weapons.

Leader of Iraq's Federal Police Shaker Gawdat revealed that his troops used military tactics to surprise the extremist militias forcing them to withdraw from the surrounding areas of Mosul Airport.

According to local sources in Nineveh, ISIS extremist militias imposed a security cordon in the districts of Mousl's old city forcing many residents to leave their houses during the recent hours to replace them with the families of its fighters. It also revealed that the extremist militias bombed the tunnels with explosives to prevent the advance of the Iraqi troops in the city.

On the other hand, Peshmerga leader Ali Kareem raised the necessity of controlling the city's airport, stressing that it would provide strategic gains to the Iraqi army during the coming phases of the military operations. He added that such a step would paralyze over 50 percent of ISIS defensive moves, as the extremist group does not have air Defense.
