The defense ministers of the Sahel region
Algeria - Rabia Khureis

The defense ministers of the Sahel region, west of Africa, will form, next week, military units consisting of 100 men belonging to special forces to deploy them in the Sahel region and on the Algerian border, to confront the militant extremists belonging to Al Qaeda, on the Maghreb countries. This decision came to implement the agreement, which was concluded by the Sahel countries, at the meeting, which was held in the Chadian capital, N'Djamena, in March 2016.

The deployment of special forces units, by the defense ministers of Chad, Niger, Burkina Faso, Mali and Mauritania - known as the group of five coastal countries - coincides with the alert status declared by the Algerian Ministry of Defense, on the southern and eastern borders with its neighbor countries, which suffer from internal crises like Libya and Mali.

Algerian Ministry of Defense deployed, during the last two days, hundreds of soldiers on its border to crack down on Prince of al-Qaeda, in the Maghreb countries. The Algerian security forces succeed in arresting 14 terrorists, in Bouira province, within 48 hours.

According to statistics revealed by the Algerian Ministry of Defense, the Algerian army forces, managed, since 2014, to kill 136 from ISIS terrorist elements. The Algerian army forces seek Algerian army forces, to eliminate  three major terrorist organizations active in the north of the country, the most important is al-Qaida organization, which invaded Algeria in 1992 , and the two other are ISIS and another small organization called "protectors of the Salafist call", which announced its joining to al-Qaida in December 2013.
