Algeria - Rabia Khureis

The Algerian army launched a security operation in the fifth district, east of Algeria, in the high mountains of Constantine and Skikda, to the forests and mountains of Jijel. The Algerian army, backed by special forces and military vehicles, is conducting the biggest combing operation, after finding an extremist explosives specialist with his family (wife, two boys and three girls) in Wadi al-Zuhour area of Skikda province.

The Algerian army is pursuing the remnants of the dormant cells, which are active in these areas, to tighten the screws on them and prevent them from infiltrating into other areas, or flee outside the country. In the upper valley of Wadi al-Zuhour, in Skikda, the army found the body of an extremist named Abbas. A statement issued by the Algerian Defense Ministry said, on Sunday, that the Algerian army forces destroyed five hideouts of extremists and six conventional bombs.

This is the third operation carried out by the Algerian army in one week. At the beginning of the week, a dangerous extremist specializing in the manufacture of explosives was arrested along with his family in Wadi al-Zuhour area. A large quantity of weapons and ammunition was seized. The forces found the body of an extremist woman, her husband is an extremist element, who was killed in an operation by the Algerian army, in 2016.

On the other hand, the Algerian army, in Tamanrasset, Baji Mukhtar Tower and Ain Gouzam, on the border with Mali and Niger, arrested smugglers, and seized a truck and two four-wheel-drive vehicles and 3800 liters of fuel.
