 Health Minister, Faeqa bint Said Al-Saleh received here today the Bahrain Institute of Banking Finance (BIBF) Director-General, Dr. Ahmed Abdulhamid Al-Shaikh, and other BIBF representatives.

 

The minister discussed with the delegation areas of Health Ministry-BIBF cooperation.

She lauded the key role played by BIBF through its programmes at creating competencies who are capable of holding posts at various economic positions to develop the national economy, wishing BIBF every success in achieving its goals.

BIBF director-general lauded the advanced level of medical sector and health services in the kingdom.

He briefed the minister about BIBF’s history and the training programmes it is providing in 36 countries across the world, noting that BIBF has trained about 43,000 persons since its establishment, 37 years ago.

Al-Shaikh also briefed the minister about the Amazon Company project for delivering internet and cloud computing services, noting that the advanced services provided by the project, which was inaugurated in the kingdom as the first Middle Eastern country to host it, in line with government’s plans to transfer of its services to the cloud systems to suit the requirements of the public and private sectors in Bahrain.

He added that the focus is on ways to develop human resources in Bahrain, as the best means to push the development process forwards.

Al-Shaikh called the Ministry of Health to take advantage of BIBF’s specialised training programmes in this field to increase the employees’ knowledge of cloud computing and make sure they are on updated on the latest developments in in the information technology, the fastest growing industries across the world.

The minister highlighted the importance of cooperation and coordination between eth two sides to train the Health Ministry’s staff on internet services and cloud computing.
