Dubai - WAM

Dubai Municipality’s Contracts and Purchasing Department has organised a ceremony in honour of its suppliers, thanking them and giving appreciation for their contributions and continuous efforts to support the municipality.

The move was also in line with its strategy to build strong relationships with suppliers to promote effective, direct and systematic communication channels with those concerned to take the lead in providing the best government services and for building a better future.

Ahmed Obaid Al Falasi, Assistant Director-General of Dubai Municipality for Corporate Support Sector, who opened the ceremony said, "We are seeking to build successful and sustainable partnerships with our suppliers to continue the development march of building a happy and sustainable city."

"The suppliers are our partners in the race for excellence to provide the best, distinguished and comprehensive government services that meet the needs of customers. We look forward to a city that provides a safe and sustainable environment for future generations, making it a preferred place to live in luxury and to support the emirate of Dubai in particular and the UAE in general," he said.

Mohammed Al Zaffin, Director of Contracts and Purchasing Department, gave a presentation on the volume and value of purchases and projects executed by suppliers. "We seek to make our suppliers happy by simplifying their transactions and opening up the field of participation in public tenders for all suppliers," he said.

A total of 25 companies from various categories were honoured, including suppliers, service providers, contractors and consultants, and members of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Establishment for SME Support.
