Beaches closed ahead of Mother of Nation festival

Beaches along the corniche will be partially closed until May 5 in preparation for the Mother of the UAE’s Festival, which will take place from March 26 until April 4, municipal officials have announced.
The closure affects Family Beach, which is accessible from gates 1 and 2, and Lagoon Beach.
Abu Dhabi Municipality said the closure is necessary ahead of the festival. The closed areas have been made clear to the public through signs displayed across the beach, while other parts will remain open and accessible to beach goers. The festival will be held along a one-kilometre stretch of the capital’s Corniche, where exhibitions, performances, installations, food and beverage outlets will be available.
Tickets for Mother of the National Festival can now be bought in advance online via Ticketmaster.
