Egypt has condemned Friday’s attack in Sweden that killed four people and injured 15 when a stolen truck slammed into a crowd of people outside a busy department store in central Stockholm.

Egypt is standing with the Swedish government and people, underscoring it's steadfast stance against all forms of terrorism,” the foreign ministry said in a statement Saturday evening.

Following what the Swedish prime minister described as a “terror attack,” a Swedish prosecutor said that a person had been formally identified as a suspect "of terrorist offenses by murder.
