Adviser to Saudi Arabian Defense Minister and Spokesman of the Arab Coalition Supporting Legitimacy in Yemen General Ahmed Asiri denied that the coalition forces imposed a maritime blockade on Yemeni ports, stressing that the forces are implementing a maritime ban to prevent the entry of weapons and explosives to the militias.
In an interview with Qatari daily al-Sharq issued Tuesday, Asiri said that the legitimate government controls 85% of Yemeni territories, adding that the strategic objective is to restore stability and security to Yemen, and this will only come with the return of legitimacy and the establishment of security and military systems and the country's constituents.
As for the situation in the port of Hudaydah, Asiri stressed that the port is not a target of the alliance now, and there is no intention to attack it, but it will not remain outside the control of the state.He pointing out that the port is used to smuggle weapons and launch military operations against navigation lines. 
There are no military operations in Hudaydah, Asiri said because the coalition is busy securing other areas.He explained that the coalition is implementing a naval control, not a blockade, saying that blockade means blocking entry and exit. Moreover, General Ahmed Asiri said that the coalition's current operations in the western part of Yemen are carried out in the eastern area of al-Mukha district which normal life had returned to it, pointing out that the He also noted that the operations taking place today in the western region of Taiz are focusing on restoring Khalid Bin Al-Walid camp and aim at breaking the siege on Taiz from the west, stressing that the results are positive. 
Asiri also said that there are operations in the Red Sea coast in addition to operations in the province of Saada to extend the influence of the Yemeni army, pointing out that there are difficulties due to the large number of mines planted in areas where the focus is.
The siege of the militias is achieving effective results, he said, adding that they do not rush to end the operations in order to save the lives of Yemenis. He explained that the putschists set up military centers among civilians, the same as ISIS method.
On his participation along with a distinct elite of politicians, army and experts in a seminar in Paris on the future of peace in Yemen, Asiri considered the seminar a positive step to brief the French people and the French public opinion about the situation in the region in general and in Yemen in particular.
Asiri expressed hope that he succeed in revealing the facts and clarifying the picture in understanding the file of Yemen and the current situation on the ground. He stressed that the liberated areas enjoy stability and security and that the legitimacy has made progress in Yemen adding that the political leadership has returned to Aden and all the Yemeni territories will return to its people soon.
