Abu Dhabi - WAM

Hatem Al Mosa, Chief Executive Officer of the Sharjah National Oil Corporation, has said that Sharjah's strong pipeline network can deliver any amount of gas to the market.

Speaking at the UAE Ministry of Energy and Industry Knowledge Series panel discussion entitled, "Oil and Gas Outlook to 2020, What Stage of Cycle are We in?" on the inaugural day of the Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference, Al Mosa, who is also the Secretary-General of the Sharjah Petroleum Council, SPC, said that despite "existing bottlenecks in the pipeline," the Al Saja’a gas complex successfully manages to supply gas from north to south.

"Our point of entry is downstream despite the bottlenecks. We are able to provide one billion cubic feet of gas into the market without any disruption due to the infrastructure in place," he explained.

He said, "Al Saja’a gas complex is the hub of all the pipelines in the Northern Emirates," which are connected to many other pipelines in Dubai, Sharjah, and others, including the Sharjah Electricity and Water Authority, adding, "With this vast network we can provide any amount of gas to the market."

The Sharjah National Oil Corporation and German energy company, Uniper SE, last year signed a Memorandum of Understanding, under the auspices of the Sharjah Petroleum Council, to import the Liquefied Natural Gas, LNG, into the Port of Hamriyah in the Emirate of Sharjah.
