Turbine maker Siemens-Gamesa says to shed 6,000 jobs

Siemens-Gamesa said Monday it would cut up to 6,000 jobs in 24 countries as it works to merge the wind turbine operations of the German and Spanish company.
"This plan, which will be implemented in the coming months, is a necessary step to strengthen the group and consolidate its position as a market leader," it said in a statement.
