Five Iraqi army soldiers were killed and injured in an armed attack which targeted a military checkpoint in Anbar province, an Iraqi security source said on Saturday.An armed group from the Islamic State in Iraq and Shahm (Daesh), driving a four-wheel vehicle, attacked a military checkpoint in Anbar, leaving two soldiers dead and three others wounded, said the source.The perpetrators have fled the scene, according to the source.A security cordon was imposed around the scene of the attack, said the source, adding that the injured were rushed to hospital to receive treatment.
