Blasts in Baghdad

Two civilians were killed and seven others injured in two blasts that rocked the Iraqi capital of Baghdad on Friday.

An explosive device was planted near a public market, southern Baghdad, and went off, killing a civilian and injuring seven others, a security source said.

Another bomb attached to a car exploded and killed the driver, eastern Baghdad, the source added.

Iraq is gripped by a sectarian conflict mostly between Shi'ites and Sunnis that has been exacerbated by the rise of the ultra-hardline insurgents of Daesh group.
