Actress Amber Heard filed a police statement Tuesday accusing her estranged husband Johnny Depp of domestic violence, saying she had endured “years of physical and psychological” abuse. Heard’s attorneys said in a statement that the actress had refused to file a police report after a May 21 argument with Depp that left a bruise on her face out of concern for his career and to protect her privacy.
“Johnny’s team has forced Amber to give a statement to the LAPD to set the record straight as to the true facts, as she cannot continue to leave herself open to the vicious false and malicious allegations that have infected the media,” the statement by attorneys Samantha Spector and Joseph Koenig said.
